About the MWSUG 2017 Logo
The red arch in our logo is the iconic St. Louis Gateway Arch which serves as a symbol for America's westward expansion, and is just a short walk from the conference hotel. St. Louis was founded on the banks of the Mississippi River in 1762 and is known as the Gateway to the West. Lewis and Clark left St. Louis on their epic journey across an unknown frontier to the Pacific Ocean. Fur trappers, mountain men, settlers and gold seekers all came through St. Louis on their way to the West. Even Historic Route 66 passes though St. Louis.
A $380 million renovation to the arch grounds and scenic riverfront area, started in 2013, is scheduled to be completed this summer just in time for the conference. During your visit to St Louis you can visit the Gateway Arch & Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, walk to Ballpark Village, the newest dining and entertainment district in St. Louis, located next to Busch stadium home of the St. Louis Cardinals, see the famed Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis or take a tour of the Anheuser Busch Brewery. For more about St. Louis and many more suggestions of what to do while here, visit the the St. Louis Travel Guide on Wikitravel.
Come join us and let St. Louis and MWSUG 2017 be your Gateway to SAS® Knowledge!
