MWSUG is an all-volunteer organization and we rely heavily on volunteers like you to make the conference a success. Volunteering is a great way to network and become more active in the community of SAS users.

Session Coordinator Volunteer Role & Duties

The success of the conference is dependent on people like you who are willing to make a commitment to be a Session Coordinator at the conference.

• Assist our section chairs with keeping time, head counts, manning the doors to ensure they do not slam and tidying the room at end of the session.
• Additional duties may also consist of running errands on behalf of the section chairs or passing out handouts.

Volunteer shifts are limited, and they are on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to sign up early to get your assignment of choice. You can sign up for more than one time slot as well. Part of being a volunteer means that you honor the commitment you have made by showing up to your assignment.

How to Sign Up to Volunteer at MWSUG

We're using SignUp.com to host the Sign-up system for volunteering. SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. Signing up for a volunteer shift is easy and you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password. Browse the list of volunteer shifts to find a time that works best for you.

Note: You can sign up to volunteer during a shift that aligns with your academic interest. We’ve added the name of the academic section that will be the focus of the volunteer shift you choose. You’ll see the name of the section in the shift description when you sign up.

As a volunteer, will I receive a registration discount?

While we wish we could offer a registration discount for each and every volunteer, it's simply not financially viable for the conference. However, volunteers will be acknowledged for their service.

When does a volunteer need to be at the conference?

All volunteers are expected to attend the Volunteer Meeting on Sunday, November 17th, at 5:30 pm at Milwaukee Marriot West - North Bay Room.
